How long is the post-acceptance process?

As soon as a paper is accepted by the editor for publication in a JMIR Publications journal, and any outstanding APFs are paid, the paper enters the production queue. Since production cannot begin before payment has been received, we encourage all authors to pay the complete APF promptly and by credit card to ensure rapid publication (payment via wire transfer or cheque takes longer to process).

Our goal is to publish papers within 35 days from payment (and within 30 days for fast-track papers), which can only be achieved with the full participation of the authors, who are asked to review the copyedit and page proofs, ensure complete metadata and supporting documents are available, answer any outstanding queries, and sign the publication agreement form.

Actual turnaround times will vary.
