Payment by credit card is preferred, but cheque or wire is possible, although not encouraged. Note that there is an additional handling fee of 7% for non-credit card payments (What is your handling fee for wire and cheque payments and what is it for?).
Our basic information such as our address, tax registration numbers or IBAN/bank accounts (please choose the US$ account), can all be found at our Contact Us page.
Please use the correct recipient ("JMIR Publications Inc.", not: "JMIR Publications", "Journal of Medical Internet Research" etc) and double-check the currency (USD, not CAD) and bank account number (7200133). Typos in the recipient name or account number may lead to a wire return (it's the bank who returns it, not us!).
When you wire money, please make sure to include the complete invoice number or at least the 5-digit manuscript tracking number, otherwise we may not be able to promptly associate the payment with your manuscript.
The sender should start an investigation (initiate a "trace") with his bank if we have not received the funds after 3 weeks. The recipient bank (or us) cannot initiate a trace. Sometimes payments are returned because the recipient name is misspelled (even using "JMIR Publications" instead of "JMIR Publications Inc" has led to bank returns, so please follow the wire instructions exactly).
Because of all this, we strongly recommend payment via credit card instead of wire.
