Once you have prepared your revised article after peer review, please upload the article before paying the Article Processing Fee (APF).
Once you pay the APF, the copyediting team will start working on the most recently uploaded article. If you upload your revised article after paying the APF, this manuscript will not be worked on by the copyediting team.
Important: The manuscript will not proceed to copyediting, if authors have not adhered to the appropriate article type format (e.g., word count, quantity of references, number of tables/figures, etc), which always applies from submission, to peer review and revision, and acceptance. It is the authors' responsibility to adhere to article type formats throughout the peer review and copyediting process.
If the manuscript does not adhere to the appropriate article type format, then the APF for the applicable article type based on format will be requested of the authors (e.g., if the manuscript was submitted as a Research Letter but then is lengthened to a Short Paper or Original Research Paper during revisions, then the applicable APF will be applied). See: JMIR Publications Fee Schedule.
