Policy on Article Processing Fee Payments

To support open access publishing and ensure the timely dissemination of accepted manuscripts, authors, or their affiliated institutions or funding bodies, are responsible for the payment of the applicable Article Processing Fee (APF) upon acceptance of their manuscript.

Payment Terms

An invoice for the APF will be issued upon manuscript acceptance. Payment is required within three (3) months (90 days) of the invoice date.

Late or Non-Payment

Failure to remit payment within the specified period will result in the withdrawal of the accepted manuscript from publication consideration. We will reach out to the authors providing an update prior to withdrawal.

Manuscripts withdrawn for non-payment may be eligible for reinstatement at the discretion of the editorial office, contingent on payment of the outstanding APF and an applicable reinstatement fee.

Reinstatement Requests

Requests for reinstatement will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to editorial approval. Please send your request to support@jmir.org.
