JMIR Publications and the MidSouth Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Society (MCBIOS) have a five (5) year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) effective Oct 10, 2025.
This strategic alliance formally designates JMIR Bioinformatics and Biotechnology (JBB) as the official society journal of MCBIOS.

The journal's scope includes methods, web-based platforms, open data, open software tools for big data analytics, machine learning-based predictive models using genomic and imaging data, and information retrieval in biology and medicine.

1. Financial and Discount Opportunities
• APF Discount for Members: Active MCBIOS members receive a 15% discount on the Article Processing Fees (APFs) for all articles accepted for publication in JMIR Bioinformatics and Biotechnology where a current MCBIOS member is the first, last, or corresponding author. Members can email [society email address] to request access to the discount code.
• APF Freeze: The Article Processing Fee (APF) rate for members is "frozen" at the time of signing and will not increase while the agreement is active.
