There are no restrictions. All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license (or 2.0 prior to mid-May 2017), meaning that you can even use images/figures/tables in your reporting as long as you properly cite the original source.
Some other best practices:
- Please always link to the HTML (not PDF) version of the article on the JMIR website (not on PubMed Central or other proxy/mirror sites)
- Please mention the complete journal title (for example, "Journal of Medical Internet Research" or "JMIR Public Health & Surveillance" or "JMIR mHealth & uHealth"). Note that "JMIR" is a brandname and does not stand for "Journal of Medical Internet Research", therefore, do not expand the journal title to something like "Journal of Medical Internet Research mHealth".
- preferably, use a phrase like "the open access journal JMIR mHealth & uHealth" or "The research article is freely available on the internet at [URL]"
- Cite the year and issue, and preferably provide the full citation information as in the example below
- If you want a quote of a JMIR editor about the study, please file a ticket at ed-support@jmir.org
